As the weather is so hot just now we are advising that pupils should bring two bottles of water to school.

Digital Time




The class have been working on digital time. This afternoon we played a matching game. In groups the children had to match the written time to the digital time.

Exercises




This morning P3/4 visited the Sports Centre. We learned how to do the triple jump and had fun bouncing across the hall. We also ran 100m and 200m races.

Bones, Muscles & Joints




This afternoon Kathryn's mum, Mrs McKenzie-Smith, visited the class to talk about Bones, Muscles & Joints. Mrs McKenzie-Smith is a trained Physiotherapist and used her expertise to teach the children all about their bodies.

Healthy Walk




This morning, between the showers, P3-6 went for a healthy walk. We walked from the school to the park half way up Lyle Hill.

Monday 21st May

On Monday morning P3/4 will be going to Greenock Sports Centre to try some Olympic events. They should wear trip uniform and bring a bottle of water. They will be repeating this trip on 11th June.

Report Cards

Time




Primary 3/4 have been learning about calendars in Maths. We have been working on our months of the year and telling the time using AM and PM. The children were asked to create a new calendar on their iPad and add new events onto it.

Tennis

A little reminder that P3/4 will have tennis tomorrow instead of ice-skating. The Waterfront Complex is being used for another event tomorrow.

Healthy Walk




This morning we had our first Healthy Walk of the term. We walked from the school to the Esplanade, all the way to the big white buoy. It was a lovely morning and the class had a great time. We looked at a number of features on the Clyde on our way.

Planning Our Topic






This afternoon Primary 3/4 planned their new Topic. The class was split into 4 groups and were given the task to brainstorm the question, 'Could I be an Olympic athlete?'




The groups came up with some fantastic ideas. As a class we put our ideas together to make a topic plan.




All we need to do know is the work!

Graphs




In Maths today we have been working on creating graphs and charts. We put the heights of the class onto a spreadsheet on the Numbers App and then worked out how to display this on a graph. We labeled the graph and the x axis and y axis.

Healthy Walks

As part our New Topic on the Olympics the class will be looking at how we can healthy. Many of our trips this term will be based around this.

On Thursday morning will will be going for a healthy walk along the Esplanade. P5/6 will be joining us as part of their River Clyde topic.

Pupils should wear trip uniform and bring a bottle of juice.
